It is hard to believe, but the calendar doesn’t lie. The Computer Guild is officially twenty years old this year!
Since we first opened our doors back in 2006, the tech world has completely transformed. We went from the days of chunky desktop towers and flip phones to an era where entire businesses run on cloud servers and AI. But even as the internet got faster and computers got smaller, our core mission right here in the Kalamazoo area has stayed exactly the same.
Basem and his brother Fady noticed that finding good, honest computer repair was way too complicated. People were fed up with getting the corporate runaround just to fix a broken hard drive. When starting the company, their goal was to just get in, fix the problem, and get out. From there, they wanted to build a place where anyone from a local business owner to a college student could get straightforward help without drowning in tech jargon.
Over the past two decades, we have solved a whole lot of tech puzzles. Fady still likes to say that problems are just new puzzles to keep the mind active. As our clients' needs grew, we grew right alongside them. What started as a go-to spot for hardware repairs naturally turned into a full service IT partnership for small and medium businesses all over Southwest Michigan.
By 2017, we knew our clients needed more than just a help desk. They needed all their tech to work together seamlessly. That is when we added Web Design, Marketing, and eventually our own Telecom platform. Today, whether we are moving a local accounting firm to the cloud, setting up emergency data backups, or launching a new phone system for a local coffee shop, we are proud to be a true one stop shop.

We didn't grow from a simple repair shop into a one stop IT shop by accident. We grew because of your hard work and your willingness to adapt whenever the tech world threw us a curveball. Technology changes every single day, but our philosophy has not moved an inch since day one. We firmly believe that local businesses and home users deserve the exact same high quality IT support that massive corporations get, and they shouldn't have to empty their bank accounts to get it.
